First, convert to an improper fraction (
a(b)/(c) = (ac+b)/(c)

Next, find common denominator and multiply.

Finally, subtract.

3(1)/(3) - 2(1)/(4)\\=(3*3+1)/(3) - (2*4+1)/(4)\\(10)/(3) - (9)/(4)

(10*4)/(3*4) - (9*3)/(4*3)\\=(40)/(12) - (27)/(12)\\(13)/(12) = 1(1)/(12)

The anser is 1 1/12, or 13/12
