The public park has a rectangular playground that is enclosed with timbers. The dimensions of the playground are 16 ft by 18 ft.

A. They need to order more mulch, but the mulch can only be ordered in square inches. How many square inches do they need to order?

B. They want to cover the playground with a fabric tarp that will be attached to four poles. They don't have enough money to cover the whole thing, so they will cover a 16 by 9 ft area. The fabric can only be ordered in square inches. How much fabric do they need to order?

A.3456

B.1728

You can find this by finding the answer to each of the equations, and then multiplying that by 12, because there are 12 inches in one foot.
