Behaviorism is different from most other approaches because they view people (and animals) as controlled by their environment and specifically that we are the result of what we have learned from our environment. Behaviorism is concerned with how environmental factors (stimuli) affect observable behavior (response). In this particular situation Jason is explaining the Classical conditioning , studied by the psychologist Ivan Pavlov, which basically involves learning a new behavior via the process of association. In simple terms two stimuli are linked together to produce a new learned response in a person or animal.
