4x-39>-43 And 8x+31<23

For 4x-39>-42, first add 39 to both sides. Then it would become 4x>-4. Divide both sides by 4, and you'll get x>-1.

For 8x+31<23, first subtract 31 from both sides. Then it would become 8x<-8. Divide both sides by 8, and you'll get x<-1.

on a graph both points start in the same spot, meaning there is no number that would work. the guy that said x < -1 is wrong
