The perimeter of a parallelogram is 72 inches, and one side measures 12 inches. What are the lengths, in inches, of the other 3 sides?

To solve this problem you must apply the proccedure shown below:

1. By definition, if one side of the parallelogram measures 12 inches, the opposite side is congruent. Therefore, two sides measure 12 inches.

2. To find the lenghts of the other two sides (which must be congruent too) you only need to substract the perimeter and the sides you know and divide the result by two:


((72 inches-12inches-12inches))/(2) =24inches

Therefore, the answer is: The other three sides measure: 12 inches, 24 inches and 24 inches.
