$45,262 I believe
I multiplied 45,000 * 6.5%
I then added that product to the original number

Answer:

The sales tax is $2,762.50 and total cost of the car including tax is $45262.50

Explanation:

The price of a new car is $42,500.

Sale tax rate = 6.5%

Sales tax on the car = 6.5% × 42,500

=
(6.5)/(100) × 42,500

= 0.065 × 42,500

= $2,762.50

Total cost of the car = 42,500 + 2,762.50 = $45262.50

The sales tax is $2,762.50 and total cost of the car including tax is $45262.50
