2.Large planes were used or in other words Commercial planes were used to do major damage to the twin towers.They did do major damage making both of the towers collapse 3.Air travel got strict after 9/11 George W.bush established DHS or Department of Homeland security to prevent another terror attack like 9/11 to never happen again 4.They have bases in those countries to be closer to terror groups and the countries that allowrd USA are part of NATO.
