Let, total number of t-shirts sold by Ashley= x

since, she made $3 for each t-shirt.

therefore, total profit made by selling x t-shirts= $3x

therefore, Net Profit= (Total Profit made by selling t-shirts)- (total expenditure)

$51=$3x-$27

∴ $3x= $51+$27=$78

∴x =$78/$3=26

Therefore, Ashley needs to sell total 26 t-shirts in order to make a profit of $51.
