6x + 8/2 - 4 = 3x

multiply numerator by denominator to get rid of fraction:

12x + 16 - 4

now you move the 12x over to the other side of the equation so that we have all the x's together.

16 - 4 = 3x-12x

now you solve it:

12 = -9x

12/-9 = x

x= negative 4/3

(6x+8)/(2) - 4 = 3x

(6x+8)/(2) = 3x + 4 added 4 to both sides

6x + 8 = 2(3x + 4) multiplied both sides by 2

6x + 8 = 6x + 8 distributed 2 on the right side

8 = 8 subtracted 6x from both sides

TRUE

Since this makes a trues statement, then there are infinite solutions
