Qty % = Qty (%)

Solution 1: x .40 .40(x)

Solution 2: 96 - x .25 .25(96 - x)

Mixture: 96 .37 .40x + .25(96 - x)

96(.37) = .40x + .25(96 - x)

35.52 = .40x + 24 - .25x

35.52 = .15x + 24

11.52 = .15x

76.8 = x

Solution 2: 96 - x = 96 - 76.8 = 19.2

Answer: 76.8 L of 40% solution, 19.2 L of 25% solution
