How does mass affect force?

Forces can make an object change shape. Newton's Second Law of Motion states that acceleration is produced when a force acts on a mass. The greater the mass the greater the amount of force needed to accelerate the object. More force is required to move a heavier object than a lighter object

When a net force is applied, the object accelerates. Newton's second law details the relationship between net force, the mass, and the acceleration: The acceleration of an object is in the direction of the net force. If you push or pull an object in a particular direction, it accelerates in that direction.
