The formula:

A = \pi r^2

The only value we don't have is r(radius)

The raduis is half the diameter, and the diameter is 4, making the radius 2. Now that we know all the values we need, we can plug them into our formula.

A = 3*2^2

A = 3*4

A = 12 in^2
