Last year I took my class on a fieldwork in 4 separate groups. The school provided sandwich for lunch, the sandwich were divided and shared as followed.

group one, 4 kids, 3 sandwich
group two, 5 kids, 4 sandwich
group three, 8 kids, 7 sandwich
the last group had 5 kids and 3 sandwich

How many pices of sandwich did each kid get?

Did the kids shared the available sandwiches equally among themselves?
If yes, then ...
sandwich(3+4+7+3) / kids(4+5+8+5)=
17/22 so nobody gets a full sandwich and and they can get as many pieces as they want as long as they add up to being 17/22 of a sandwich
