Poverty affects everyone, even those who aren't experiencing and never will. Not only is this an unjust condition to be living with, and we should sympathize with our fellow human beings, but it also indirectly affects us. Those in poverty generally represent "wasted lives." These people could've become engineers, doctors, or other very successful people who have extremely positive effects on society but are unable to do so because of their financial situation. Not only this but poverty also leads desperate people to turn to theft and other forms of crime and breeds many health problems and illnesses. Although most people consider poverty to be a problem without a solution, there are plenty of reasons we should still care for the people that are less fortunate and even more ways we can help.

Hope I helped!
