Hi,

My work:

- ( - 2 - 5x) + ( - 2) = 18 \\ 2 + 5x + ( - 2) = 18 \\ eliminate \: the \: opposites \\ 5x = 18 \\ divide \: both \: sides \: by \: 5 \\ x = (18)/(5) = 3 (3)/(5) = 3.6

Hope this helps.

X=18/5

remove parenthesis -(-2-5x)+(-2)=18

eleminate the opposites 2+5x+(-2)=18

divide both sides by 5 . 5x=18

So the answer would be D

X=18/5
