Answer: 6.17 m

When a slingshot shoots a marble with initial velocity,
u=11 m/s, it reaches a certain height
(s) and starts dropping from their under gravity
g=9.8m/s^2. At the maximum height, instantaneous velocity,
v=0 m/s

We would use the following equation of motion to find the maximum height reached:

2as=v^2-u^2

where,
ais the acceleration ,
s is the distance,
v is the final velocity,
u is the initial velocity.

\Rightarrow s=(v^2-u^2)/(2a)=(0-(11m/s)^2)/(2*-9.8m/s^2)=(-121)/(-19.6)m=6.17 m

Marble reaches a maximum height of 6.17 m above the ground.
