I really need help on this problem! If you help me I'll give you 30 points! Please explain if you can! Here's the problem:

Wendy is 4 years older than Connie. Connie is 4 years older than Tim. If the sum of these three ages is 45, how old is Tim?

Answer:

Wendy = W

Connie = C

Tim = T

Equations

W = C + 4

C = T + 4

W + C + T = 45

Solution

Put W into the third equation

C + 4 + C + T = 45

2C + 4 + T = 45

Put T into the above equation

C = T + 4

T = C - 4

2C + 4 + C - 4 = 45

3C = 45

C = 15

C = T + 4

15 = T + 4 The answer is: 11 = T
