Given that H is between K and L.

That is K,H,L form a straight line and KL = KH+HL.

Given KH=3.4 inches and KL = 14.9 inches.

If we plugin these values in KL=KH+HL

14.9 = 3.4+HL

HL = 14.9-3.4 = 11.5 inches

Hence length of HL is 11.5 inches.
