You can solve this problem through using a proportion.

First, set up two equations that are based on
(x)/(y).

Your equation should be
(24)/(6) = (x)/(7). This is because you can substitute all the variables that are defined in their numbers. x is not determined.

You would have to continue solving through cross multiplication.

(24)/(6) = (x)/(7)

24 * 7 = 6 x

168=6x

x=28 is your final answer. Hope this helped!

We have: Y=6 n X=24 => X=4xY

So if Y=7 => X=28
