Hey there!!

What are prime numbers?

Ans - Prime numbers are the numbers which has two factors. The factors would be 1 and the number it self

ex : 5 , list down the factors

1 and 5 ( observe that the factors are 1 and the number itself )

Hence, 5 is a prime number.

Note : Always remember that when you want to break a number into it's prime factors, always start with the least prime number.

Thing to remember :

The least prime number is 2 . ( the reason I am conveying this detail because most people get confused with this. Most people take the least prime number as 3 instead of 2 as 2 is the only even prime number )

Now, moving back on:

76 in to prime factors

first divide 76 with 2

=> 76 = 38 × 2

2 is a prime factor , so let's move onto 38

Divide 38 with 2

=> 76 = 19 × 2 × 2

19 is a prime factor

The final answer :

=> 76 = 19 × 2 × 2

Hope it helps!

76 = 2 · 38 = 2 · 2 · 19

76 : 2 = 38

38 : 2 = 19
