A particle moves along the x axis. Its position as function of time is given by x=6.8t+8.5t^2, where t is in seconds and x is in meters. What is the acceleration as a function of time?

displacement=x-0=x (assuming the journey started at t=0)
time=t
x=ut+1/2 at^2
u=initial velocity=0
acceleration=a=((x-ut)*2)/t^2
a=(13.6t+17t^2)/t^2
a=17+13.6/t
