A water bath in a physical chemistry lab is 1.75 m long, 0.730 m wide, and 0.650 m deep. If it is filled to within 2.27 inches from the top, how many liters of water are in it?

It is 0.720 meters cause if the manufacturers of liters contain 2.27 inches it would make a deeply filled of 0.660

Answer: The volume of water present are 73.584 liters.

Explanation : Given,

Length of box = 1.75 m

Breadth of box = 0.730 m

Height of box = 0.650 m

Height of water = 2.27 inch = 0.0576 m

Conversion used : (1 inch = 0.0254 m)

To calculate the volume of water by using the formula of volume of cuboid, we use the equation:


V=lbh

where,

V = volume of water

l = length of water = 1.75 m

b = breadth of water = 0.730 m

h = height of water = 0.0576 m

Putting values in above equation, we get:


V=1.75m* 0.730m* 0.0576m=0.073584m^3=73.584L

Conversion used :
1m^3=1000L

Hence, the volume of water present are 73.584 liters.
