one solution x =
(2)/(3)

distribute and simplify the right side of the equation.

- 6 - 4x = 8x - 14

subtract 8x from both sides

- 6 - 4x - 8x = - 14

- 6 - 12x = -14

add 6 to both sides

- 12x = - 14 + 6

- 12x = - 8

divide both sides by - 12

x =
(-8)/(- 12) =
(2)/(3)

-6 -4x=-2(-4x+7) \\\\ -6-4x=8x-14\\\\ 12x=8\\\\ x=(8)/(12)=(2)/(3)

So, one
