The answer is 8. You plug in 30 and 1/4 for m and n. 0.1 times 30 should give you 3. 12 times 1/4 should give you 3. You now have 3 + 8 - 3. Then calculate to get 8 as your answer.

Just sub in and put into your calculator like this 0.1(30)+8-12(1/4)
