A nuclear reaction is a type of a reaction where the sum of mass numbers (written on top of the element) and the sum of the atomic numbers (written at the bottom of the element) balance out each other on both the sides of an equation. For example:

_(1)^(1)\textrm{H}+_(2)^(3)\textrm{He} \rightarrow _(2)^(4)\textrm{He}+_(+1)^(0)\beta

here ,the sum of atomic number on reactants= sum of atomic number on products &

the sum of atomic masses on reactants= sum of atomic masses on products

There are 3 different types of subatomic particles that are involved in any nuclear reactions. They are

1) protons

2) neutrons

3) electrons
