Hi,

Work:

Equation;

|5 - x| = 2

Rewrite the absolute value equation as two separate equations, one positive and the other one negative.

5 - x = 2 \\ 5 - x = - 2

Solve both equations for x.

x = 3 \\ x = 7

Final solutions:

x1 = 3 \\ x2 = 7

Hope this helps.
