To find the answer,we can calculate the cars they can make seperately.

In two hours,John can make:

2÷2/3
=2×3/2
=6/2
=3

John can make 3 car in two hours.

While Matthew can make:

2÷1/2
=2×2/1
=4

Mathew can make 4 cars in 2 hours.

In total,they can make:

3+4
=7

An alternative method:
2÷1/2+2÷2/3
=4+3
=7

Therefore, they can make 7 cars in 2 hours.

Hope it helps!
