4 * 3 = 12
1 * 8 = 8

12:8 = 6:4 = 3:2

3+2 = 5

4800/5 = 960

960 * 3 = 2880
960 * 2 = 1920

2880 / 3 = 960
1920 / 8 = 240

Therefore they sold 960 ice cream cones, and 240 shakes

Hopes this helps! :)

Answer: 960 ice-cream cones and 240 shakes were sold last month.

Step-by-step explanation: Given that Ben and Jerry’s sells 4 times more ice cream cones (each at $3) than shakes (each at $8) and the last month's sales totaled $4,800.

We are to find the number of ice cream cones and shakes that were sold.

Let c and s represents the number of ice cream cones and shakes that were sold last month.

Then, according to the given information, we have

c=4s~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~(i)\\\\3c+8s=4800~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~(ii)

Substituting the value of c from equation (i) in equation (ii), we get

3c+8s=4800\\\\\Rightarrow 3*4s+8s=4800\\\\\Rightarrow 12s+8s=4800\\\\\Rightarrow 20s=4800\\\\\Rightarrow s=(4800)/(20)\\\\\Rightarrow s=240.

From equation (i). we get

c=4*240=960.

Thus, 960 ice-cream cones and 240 shakes were sold last month.
