GPS stands for Global Positioning System. GPS uses satellites that orbit Earth to send information to GPS receivers that are on the ground. The information helps people determine their location.

A geographic information system (GIS) is a system designed to capture, store, manipulate, analyze, manage, and present all types of geographical data. Attribute data can be generally defined as additional information about each of the spatial features.
