Since we are rounding at 6, we need to look at the number directly after it to see if we need to round up or down.

When the number after the number you want rounded is less than 5, your number stays the same.
If the number after your number is equal to or higher than 5, your number would’ve increased by 1.

In your case, 2 is the number we need to look at. Since it’s below 5, your 6 will remain a 6.

The digit 6 is in the thousands place so you are rounding to the thousands place. If you were to round to the nearest thousand, the answer would be 126,000. You always look to the right of the digit you are trying to round too and base it off of that. If its 5 and above, give it a shove and 4 and below, leave it alone meaning round down. Hope this helps! :)
