The greatest foreign policy success of the Carter presidency was the Camp David Accords. The Camp David Accords were signed by Egyptian President Anwar Sadat and Israeli Prime Minister Menachem Begin on 17 September 1978 after many negotiations lead by Jimmy Carter. The accords established a framework for a historic peace treaty concluded between Israel and Egypt in 1979.
