I don't really like these algebra problems which pretend to be geometry.

The bisector makes two equal angles, so

x/2 + 17 = x - 33

50 = (1/2) x

x = 100

That means ABC = 100/2 + 17 = 67 degrees

CBD = 100 - 33 = 67 degrees, equal so that checks

We're asked for ABC which is 67 + 67 = 134 degrees

Answer: 134°
