Hello! Glad to help.

What you need to do is; Solve for n by simplifying both sides of the equation, then isolating the variable.

10 (n + 3) = 1/2 (24 - 14n)

Step 1: Simplify both sides of the equation

10n + 30 = 12 - 7n

Step 2: Distribute

10n + 30 = -7 + 12

Step 3: Add 7n to both sides

10n + 30 + 7n = -7n + 12 + 7n

17n + 30 = 12

Step 4: Subtract 30 from both sides

17n + 30 -30 = 12 - 30

17n = -18

Step 5: Divide both sides by 17

17n / 17 = -18 / 17

Answer:

n = -18 / 17

Remember you answer is a fraction! Don't forget that.

I hope this helped you! Anymore questions? Just ask.

First, you have to distribute : -10n - 30 = 12 - 7n

Add 30 to both sides : -10n = 42 - 7n

Add 7n to both sides : -3n = 42

Divide by -3 on both sides : n = -14
