Cohesion is the strong attraction between molecules of the same kind. Water has this property because of hydrogen. Hydrogen form strong bonds with each other which keep water molecules intact. When sprayed on a waxed surface they tend to bead because hydrogen bonds are more attracted to themselves, rather than the wax surface.
