Schultz identified three essential interpersonal needs: need for inclusion, need for control, need for affection.

The need for control refers to the desire of directing someone’s behaviour, or of having the power to cause something to function in certain way. It is also shown through the desire to establish relations with respect to authority and being at the top of your social network.
