The length of a rectangular field is 6m less than twice the width. The perimeter is 312 m. Find the length of the field

Answer: 102

Explanation:

L=2x-6

2(2w-6)+2(w)=312

4w-12+2w=312

6w=324

w=54

L=54*2-6

A) L +6 = 2W OR

A) L +6 -2W = 0

B) 2L + 2W = 312 Adding A and B

3L +6 = 312

3L = 306

Length = 102

A) 102 +6 = 2W

108 = 2W

Width = 54
