three fluid-filled bony channels in the inner ear. They are situated at right angles to each other and provide information about orientation to the brain to help maintain balance.

these are found in our ear and works by movement of a liquid and some sensory hair cells inside ear. when ever head moves in any direction sensory hair cells feels a movement of liquid and sends a signal to brain.
