So to make x the subject, you need to isolate it to one side.

Firstly, subtract both sides by 2:
y-2=(1)/(2)x

Next, multiply both sides by 2:
2(y-2)=x

Lastly, distribute 2 to (y - 2) and your final answer will be
2y-4=x

Subtract 2

y-2=1/2 x

Multiply by 2 to cancel out the denominator and to get 1 in front of x

2(y-2)=x

You can stop there or you can multiply out.

2y-4=x
