z_1 = 5-2i and
z_2 = 8+i.

For given two complex numbers
z_1 = x_1+iy_1 and
z_2 = x_2+iy_2, the midpoint is given by the formula
((x_1+x_2+y_1+y_2)/(2))

So, midpoint =
(5+8-2i+i)/(2)

=
(13-i)/(2)

=
{6.5-0.5i}

Hence, the midpoint of the given complex numbers is (6.5, -0.5)

Option 3 is the correct answer.
