Answer: 24S + (S+17)
1) rate (mph) multiplied by time = distance SO...
2) (S *24 hours) + (S+17) for the additional hr. =
3) 24S = distance for 1st 24 hours AND
(S+17) * 1 = distance for the additional hour
4) 24S + (S + 17)
