F1 = (8.6,3.8) and f2 = (8.2,-7.7) where all components are in newtons. What is the exact x-component of f1 + f2 (in newtons)? (never include units with the answer to any numerical question.)

we are given two forces

f_1=(8.6,3.8)

f_2=(8.2,-7.7)

Since, force are vector quantities

so, when we add two vectors , we add x-components with x-components

and y-components with y-components

so, we get

f_1+f_2=(8.6,3.8)+(8.2,-7.7)

f_1+f_2=(8.6+8.2,3.8-7.7)

f_1+f_2=(16.8,-3.9)

so, x-component is 16.8.............Answer
