The correct sentence should be the following:

The new inductee proclaimed: "My membership is my greatest honor!"

There are some changes made to the original sentence. First, I replaced the comma by a colon since before quoting somebody a colon must be used. Secondly, I deleted the pronoun “it” because the subject is already in the sentence (my membership). And finally, I capitalized the letter “M” right after the quotation marks.
