we are given

P=2e^(-0.5t)

we can rewrite it as

P=2(e^(-0.5))^t

e^(-0.5)=0.6065

now, we can replace it

we get

P=2(0.6065)^t

now, we can compare it with

P=P_0(a)^t

and find a

a=0.6065

Since, a=0.6065<1

so, it is exponential decay function..........Answr
