What effect do mass and distance have on the force of gravity?

There is a direct relationship between mass but not with that of distance, the relationships can be obtained from the formula for universal gravitation which is

FG = GMm/r^2.

Here the mass has a direct linear relationship whereas the radius has an inverse square relationship.
