The total distance in terms of 's' will be : (25s+17) miles

Step-by-step explanation

We know that,
Distance= Speed* Time

So, the distance traveled at a speed of
s miles/hour for 24 hours will be:
d_(1)= (s*24)miles = 24s miles.

Now, the speed is 17 miles/hour faster for another hour. So the speed for this another hour is
(s+17)miles/hour

So, the distance traveled in this another hour
=[(s+17)*1]miles = (s+17) miles

Thus, the total distance
=[24s+(s+17)] miles = (25s+17) miles
