simplified is y = -x/2 - 6

Perpendicular slopes are just reciprocals of the original slope, so just flipp the original slope around to be the complete opposite.

Example if slope= -2, the reciprocal= -1/2

Just flip the numerator with the denominator for perpendicular slope
