Answer: (7/8)x gallons
Step-by-step explanation:
Let x be the amount of gasoline at the start of the trip.
During the trip the car uses 1/8 gallons of gasoline
Which mean it uses 1/8 of the original gasoline, (1/8)x.
Gasoline left in the tank:
x - (1/8)x = (7/8)x
