Each fraction can be rewritten with an 8 in the denominator //

1/4 -> 2/8

3/8 = 3/8

1/2 -> 4/8

From left to right, each fraction is increasing by 1/8.

Answer:

Common difference, d
=(1)/(8)

Explanation:

Given: The sequence is arithmetic
(1)/(4),(3)/(8),(1)/(2)

\text{First term, }a_1=(1)/(4)

\text{Second term, }a_2=(3)/(8)

\text{Third term, }a_3=(1)/(2)

To find: Common difference, f

Common difference is equal to difference of second term minus first term.( Difference of any two consecutive term)

\text{Common difference, }d=a_2-a_1=a_3-a_2

d=(3)/(8)-(1)/(4)

d=(3-2)/(8)

d=(1)/(8)

Hence, The common difference of the given arithmetic sequence is
(1)/(8)
