x in terms of b:

-2(bx - 5) = 16

-2bx + 10 = 16

-2bx = 6

x = 6 / -2b

x = -3/b

--------------------------------

when b = 3 then

-2(3x - 5) = 16

-6x + 10 = 16

-6x = 6

x = -1

Answer

The value of x in terms of b is -3/b
