One coin is randomly selected from a jar containing 70 nickels, 100 dimes, 80 quarters and 50 one-dollar coins. What is the probability of selecting a coin with a value greater than $0.10?

Add all the coins together for the total coins:

70 + 100 + 80 + 50 = 300 total coins.

The only coins greater than 0.10 are the quarters and one-dollar coins.

Total of those two coins: 80 + 50 = 130 coins.

Probability of picking one of those = 130 / 300, which reduces to 13/30
